COMMITTEESIt is said that many hands make light work. We believe that at ICHS. To spread the work out, we assign responsibilities to a variety of committees.
West Riverside/Edblad Cabin CommitteePurpose: This committee manages both West Riverside Museum School and the Edblad Cabin, located off County Road 14. Members organize five weeks of Old Time School in the summer.
Members: Roger Wm. Anderson, chair; Joyce Becklin, Karin Lood, Jeff Edblad, Cliff Edblad, & Linda Mickelson Meetings held in the spring to organize Old Time School Friends of St. John'sPurpose: The Friends keep track of renovation needs at the historic church and fundraise for projects. They also organize events (such as Oktoberfest) at the church.
Members: Ralph Shepherd, chair; Larry Southerland; and others Meetings held as needed Spencer Brook Historical AssociationPurpose: This group was formed to oversee renovation work at the historic school.
Bobby Peterson, chair; Steve Tou, Nancy & Ray Seeger, Tom Cameron, & Kurt Daudt Meetings held once a year Accessions CommitteePurpose: This group of volunteers takes stock of items the ICHS currently owns, and evaluates donations.
Members: Ruth Anderson, chair; Willis Dahlman, Elaine Coleman, Sue Sweep & Jim Johnson Meetings held frequently at ICHS Development CommitteePurpose: The development committee, a subset of the ICHS board, exists to raise funds for the organization. Members plans fund-raising events (such as the Taste of Home Cooking School), organize letter-writing campaigns, and make personal appeals.
Members: ICHS board members led by the ICHS President Meetings held once a month Nominating CommitteePurpose: This group is charged with recruiting new members for the board.
Members: Board chair, Kathy McCully, Kriste Ericsson Meetings held in the fall of each year Finance CommitteePurpose: This group helps reate the annual financial plan,assist Ex. Dir with fashioning yearly budget, perform a 6 mo. evaluation of budget and make investment recommendations.
