Dear Friend of West Riverside,
Thank you for your interest in the West Riverside Museum School Program, where students experience what it was like to attend a rural school in 1900. We are offering school for five weeks this summer and are hopeful that all who have expressed an interest in attending may be accommodated.
Registration will be based on a combination of early return of the registration form and a balancing of the grade levels for each session. Students who were in grades 1-8 this year and over the age of six are eligible. School is in session from 9:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M., and family and friends are welcome to visit the school any day during school hours. There will be a program by the students on Friday.
The weeks school will be in session are:
• June 13-17
• June 20-24
• June 27-July 1
• July 5-8 (No school July 4, longer hours the other days—This session will be held from 8:30 to 1:30 to make up for one less day)
Students are asked to wear old-fashioned clothes, bring two sharpened lead pencils and an old-fashioned lunch in a basket or pail (NO junk food). Students may bring old books, toys, wooden articles, etc. to show at school.
The fee for attending school this year will be $50.00 per student. To register for West Riverside School, return the Registration Form and fee as soon as possible (This fee is non-refundable). I will notify you only if your first choice cannot be accommodated. If you have any questions, please call me at 689-2830. The West Riverside Museum School is run by volunteers and overseen by the Isanti County Historical Society. Because of that relationship, each student can receive a $10.00 discount if a parent or grandparent is a current member of the Isanti County Historical Society. If you wish to become a member, please send the membership form back to the Historical Society.
Sincerely,
Karen Lood
